Hello, I’m Rain — born, raised, and eventually also hopelessly in love with the city of Tartu.

My journey into photography began when I was about ten years old and discovered my father’s old camera hiding on a shelf, covered in a thin layer of dust. For me, it was like opening a door into an entirely new world. From that moment on, I understood that photographs are never just photographs — they are stories, memories, and emotions that never fade.

Although cameras have been part of my life for many years, I truly arrived at what I create today only in 2019. Photography, for me, isn’t a job. It’s a passion. It’s that place where the world pauses the moment I look through the lens. Everything becomes simple — a person, the light, the emotion, the story.

I’ve had the honour of being a Portrait Masters Associate since 2023, and my work has been recognised at international competitions as well. But what truly matters to me is this: that the person in front of my camera feels cared for, beautiful, and genuinely seen.

I draw inspiration from legendary photographers such as Helmut Newton and Peter Lindbergh — masters who showed the world that beauty doesn’t need to be exaggerated. Authenticity is enough. Light is enough. A person simply being themselves is enough.

At heart, I’m a people person. I love getting to know someone — the real person, not the posed version. Everyone has a story, and my goal is to capture it in the most beautiful and timeless way.

And while my shelf holds a variety of cameras, I do have one true soft spot: Pentax. I’m a full‑blown Pentaxian — and not by accident. These cameras are like those slightly quirky, endlessly reliable friends who are always there when you need someone who understands you without words.
